In a world that often seems fast-paced and self-focused, it’s heartwarming to witness acts of kindness and generosity that remind us of the power of community and compassion. At Upminster Containers, we are proud to stand beside one such remarkable organization, the Carli Lansley Foundation, in their mission to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.
The Carli Lansley Foundation was born out of a devastating loss but stands as a testament to the resilience and strength of its founder, Karl Lansley. In 2017, his beloved wife, Carli Lansley, tragically passed away from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS). In the midst of his grief, Karl and his children, Jess and Ethan, decided to channel their pain into creating a lasting legacy of love and care.
The foundation’s core mission is to provide free heart screenings for young people aged 14 to 35 in the Southend area. These screenings are crucial for early detection of heart conditions that might otherwise go unnoticed, potentially saving lives and sparing families from the heartache that Karl and his children experienced.
Upminster Containers has proudly aligned itself with the Carli Lansley Foundation, not only through business but through genuine compassion and dedication. Alex and Alfie have already undergone ECG screenings, and the charity’s mission holds a special place in their hearts.
Our support extends beyond the professional realm, as we actively participate in the foundation’s events and fundraising efforts. Last weekend, our team volunteered their time outside a local Morrisons shop, collecting donations and spreading awareness of the foundation’s vital work. Karl Lansley himself expressed his gratitude, saying, “At our collection day at Morrisons on Saturday, our Foundation would like to say a huge thank you to Maria Hadden (on the right pictured with her friend, Tina) and her son Alex for helping out”.
Karl Lansley also acknowledged the incredible contributions made by Maria and Upminster Containers through various channels, including fundraising and awareness campaigns. In a heartwarming statement, he shared, “Maria has already had one of her children checked at our ECG screening days, with another due to be screened this year, so we know our charity means a lot to her and her family. Maria is the Managing Director at Upminster Containers, who we announced earlier this week will have one of our collection tins, plus our charity leaflets, on display at the customer counter. As well as making a direct donation from the company, Maria also used Easyfundraising for lots of her business purchases and, based on the cashback we receive on their purchases, she has raised an astonishing £172.54.
Maria, and her family, also had a table at our curry night in October and has supported us in other ways – mainly by raising awareness of our charity to her family, friends and colleagues
So, we’d like to say a HUGE “Thank You” to Maria, her family and her business for everything they do for us. It is through these gestures of kindness and collaboration that we find the true essence of community.”
At Upminster Containers, we are deeply honoured to be a part of the Carli Lansley Foundation’s journey, and we remain committed to supporting their mission to provide a lifeline for the youth of our community. As we continue to forge ahead together, we look forward to a future where young hearts beat strong, thanks to the unwavering dedication of organizations like the Carli Lansley Foundation.
