Is a converted shipping container a good option for a fast-food business? If our recent experience is anything to go by, then the answer seems to be a resounding ‘yes’!
We recently joined forces with a growing fast-food business who wanted to make the most of our shipping container conversion skills and experience. They were aware that we’ve been carrying out successful container conversions for years, transforming humble steel shipping boxes into all kinds of new spaces, from offices to school classrooms, sports changing facilities to pop-up shops. So, they knew that we could create the perfect new space that they needed.
The client chose a standard size 20-foot-long container. This formed the basis of a new space in which their business could prepare and serve the delicious food that their brand is renowned for.
Creating Easy Access
One of the first and most important tasks of the conversion project was to ensure safe and secure access to the container for the fast-food team. This included the installation of a sturdy, lockable door.
Insulating The Interior
We made sure that the shipping container provided a safe, comfortable and inspiring place to work by fully insulating its interior. We then lined it with fire-rated plywood. This ensured that the unit was ready for the client to install the storage facilities, work surfaces and appliances they needed to prepare and cook food for their customers.
Eye-Catching Exterior
We helped the client ensure that their investment in a shipping container would catch the eye of potential customers and draw them in. The outside of the container was painted a vibrant red – a colour that matched the client’s brand. It created a unit that was impossible to miss. We also ensured that space on the exterior was left for the client to display their name and logo as well as their delicious menu.
Serving Hatch
The client wanted to get their freshly prepared dishes straight into the hands of their hungry customers, so we installed gas-strut-operated serving hatches. We also ensured that the conversion included a fold-away serving ledge which provided a place for customers to rest their plates and add condiments or garnishes to their food if required.
Other Features
The initial brief from the client also required us to make various other adjustments to the container’s exterior and interior to ensure their exact specifications were met.
It’s fair to say that the client was delighted with the showstopping nature of the container conversion our experts here at Upminster Containers carried out for them. They now have a place from which to serve their food that’s unlike anywhere else.
We were delighted to again be able to use our skills to provide a local business with a high-quality solution that aligns with their vision and will help continue the impressive growth of their fast-food business.
There are so many great reasons why a growing number of businesses in fast food and other sectors are choosing converted shipping containers to provide them with the space they need. By using the Upminster Containers team of expert designers, welders, carpenters, fabricators and electricians, you can be assured that your conversion project will bring your business the following benefits:
A Quick Solution
Finding new premises or receiving the green light for a new-build (or an extension to an existing location) is a time-consuming process. However, converting an existing shipping container into something that delivers the kind of space you need is far quicker and a lot less hassle. And it almost always costs less too.
A Versatile New Home
Shipping containers are designed to be moved around, and many lorries can easily transport them from A to B. So, if you’re looking for a versatile new space solution that can be moved around with very little hassle, a converted shipping container is likely going to provide the mobility you need.
An Eco-Friendly Alternative
Undertaking a new build or extension is a large-scale project that will require a large number of resources, certainly far more than we’ll need to convert a shipping container. That means if you want the environmental impact of your business expansion to be as limited as possible, it’s well worth considering a container conversion.
